TCM CSR in TZU CHI NORTHERN REGION HEALTH SCREEN

Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia from KL Selangor branch with their Tzu-Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) organised Tzu-Chi Northern Region Health Screen event at Kuala Lumpur Jing Si Hall on 30th June 2024 Sunday. The purpose of the event is providing the free health screening and TCM treatment at the same time. They are inviting our lecturer Mr. Chong Teek Foh to join and collaborate with them in the CSR event as one of the TCM practitioners to provide consultation and acupuncture, overall total 75 people received free consultation and 23 people received free acupuncture during the event. Providing free consultation and acupuncture treatment is aimed at helping more people access the benefits of traditional Chinese medicine, especially those who may not be able to afford conventional medical costs. Acupuncture is used to alleviate various types of pain, regulate bodily functions, and promote overall health. By offering free acupuncture treatment, more individuals can benefit, improving their quality of life and making a positive contribution to community health. Also to promote this as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for our university. At the same time to enhance the branding of university to public.

Benefits to the community  :

This initiative not only addresses immediate health concerns but also fosters a greater sense of community support and empowerment. It highlights the importance of holistic health practices and encourages individuals to take an active role in their well-being. Additionally, by alleviating the financial burden associated with healthcare, free acupuncture services can prevent health issues from escalating, ultimately reducing the strain on healthcare systems.
