Approximately 38 students and staff were involved in this event. The students were
from the Foundation in Science programme (CFSI) and Bachelor of Biotechnology
programme (BBTEI), representing different ethnicities, countries, and backgrounds. 1
alumnus of the BBTEI attended the event, along with 2 other staff members from the
library and the Director of IRCC, Dr. Yeo Bee Lin. Before the event started, the Head
of Programme (HOP), AP Dr. Cheng Wan Hee, gave a short briefing to all the
participants on the important of a clean environment for the beach, especially for the
ecosystem and the communities. These activities can help reduce pollution from
entering the ocean and maintain a healthy marine life. Based on the verbal
communication, the students and staff are very happy with the activities and looking
forward to future activities. The students and some of the staff used the INTI bus for
transportation. While we were there, one of the Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson staff
(a cleaner) approached us, acknowledged our efforts, and expressed gratitude for our
support in cleaning the beach.
