General Terms & Conditions For 2016 INTI e-Scholarships

Eligibility Requirements
  1. The award is open to Malaysian citizens only.
  2. The award applies to INTI Campuses in West Malaysia (Putra Nilai, Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur and Penang).
  3. Applicant must only use the duly certified (by school) 2015 SPM Trial Exam Results / Forecast results to apply for INTI e-Scholarship.
  4. Meeting the minimum criteria does not automatically guarantee the applicant a scholarship. It is subject to the quota set by individual INTI campuses.
  5. The applicant is entitled to only ONE of the awards mentioned below and the award with the highest quantum will automatically apply:-
    1. INTI Scholarship/ INTI e-Scholarship; or
    2. INTI Bursaries; or
    3. INTI Edu-Assist financial aid; or
    4. INTI Fee Waiver.

Application Process & Supporting Documents
  1. The applicant must complete the e-scholarship application form that can be found in the INTI website.
  2. Successful applicants must have submitted the admission application form with all the required supporting documents and having obtained a conditional offer for 2016 January intake and having enrolled with full fees payment for semester 1 paid by 6 December 2015 which is not refundable
  3. Applicant should be informed that:-
    1. the award will only be granted if the 2015 SPM trial exam / 2015 SPM forecast result meets the eligibility requirements;
    2. applicants who applied using their trial exam/forecast results may not automatically be entitled to an upgrade to an award of higher quantum if the official result is better than the trial exam/forecast result submitted earlier;
    3. upon a written request received and subject to availability and approval, the applicant may be upgraded to an award of a higher quantum if the official result is better than the trial exam/ forecast result submitted earlier. The scholarship upgrade is based on the scholarship scheme for 2016 April/May intake.
    4. applicants who applied using trial exam/forecast results will not have their award downgraded to a lower quantum award even if the official result is lower than the trial exam/forecast results submitted earlier provided:-
      • the official results meet the minimum requirement of 5As (not including A-) in SPM, except for Foundation / Diploma category, which required 3As (not including A-) in SPM.
      • the official results meet the 10As (not including A-) in SPM for those 100% scholarship recipients. Shall the results fail to meet the requirement, the scholarship amount will be adjusted according to the SPM official results. The scholarship adjustment is based on the scholarship scheme for 2016 April/May intake.
    5. where the applicant's official results do not meet the requirements mentioned above in 3 (iv) (1),the applicant will not be entitled to the award. The Scholarship amount disbursed in the first semester need not be returned but the scholarship will no longer be applicable to the programme he/she is currently enrolled in.
    6. 100% scholarship recipients will have to pay part of the first semester tuition fees of RM2,000. The reimbursement of the RM2,000 will be done in July 2016.
    7. The reimbursement of the partial tuition fees of RM2,000 for the first semester will be forfeited if the applicant withdraws from the programme before the reimbursement date.
    8. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

Scope of the Award
  1. The award is only applicable to payment of tuition fees.
  2. In the event the scholarship amount exceeds the total amount payable as tuition fees, the sum payable for tuition would be equivalent to the scholarship amount.
  3. The award is only valid for the programme in which the applicant has enrolled and obtained a conditional offer in and for the applicant’s duration of study at an INTI campus in West Malaysia. In the event the applicant changes programme or transfers to another INTI campus in Malaysia, the scholarship may be terminated, subject to the approval of INTI.
  4. The award is disbursed based on the length of the semester (short/long), course load/credits/subjects. The award for A Level is only applicable to 3 subjects, whereas the award for American Degree Programs covers the first 30 credit hours and the award for diploma programmes is only applicable to the first year of studies.

Non-application of the Award
  1. The award is NOT exchangeable for cash or other alternatives.
  2. The award is exclusive of other fees and charges such as application, registration, resource, assessment, general and franchise fees to partner university (where applicable), all of which must be borne by the successful applicant.
  3. The award is not transferable within INTI campuses which are part of the INTI International University and Colleges network. A request for transfer of this scholarship is subject to the approval of INTI.
  4. The award is not applicable to the applicant's period of study at overseas partner universities or participation in any semester abroad programme.

Obligation of the Award Recipient
  1. Once awarded,
    1. the award recipient must have applied and obtained a conditional offer for 2016 Quarter 1 intake and having enrolled with full fees payment for semester 1 paid by 6 December 2015 which is not refundable.
    2. the award recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student by 6 December 2015 and must continue to be a student at INTI for the duration of the programme.
  2. The award recipient is responsible to:-
    1. make timely payment of fees in line with INTI policies and procedures, failing which INTI reserves the right to take necessary action, including suspension/termination of the award. Reinstatement of the award is also subject to the discretion of INTI;
    2. comply with all applicable rules and regulations stipulated by INTI;
    3. maintain the required academic achievement, failing which the award may be suspended for the subsequent semester. In such an event, the recipient must pay the full tuition fee to continue with the course in the semester where the award is suspended (“Suspended Semester”). There will be no refund of fees paid by the student for the Suspended Semester. The award may be reinstated for the subsequent semester provided that the award is still valid, failing which the award will be deemed terminated;
    4. take part in student activities or community projects specified by INTI and where required,
    5. contribute up to a maximum of 40 hours per year of their time to assist INTI in marketing and promotional activities, peer counseling, extracurricular activities, and other administration work as notified by INTI. Failure to comply with such requests without reason/s acceptable to INTI may result in suspension or termination of the award/ scholarship.

Termination of Award and Other Important Notices
  1. The award will be terminated upon completion of the normal prescribed study period of the programme enrolled in and will not extend to any additional period including resit(s) and semester abroad programmes.
  2. The available awards are limited and vary depending on the individual INTI campus.
  3. INTI reserves the right to terminate the award if the applicant does not comply with the rules and regulations stipulated by INTI, including the terms and conditions mentioned herein.
  4. The above constitute the general terms and conditions for all INTI Scholarships and Bursaries. INTI reserves the rights to change these terms and conditions and will communicate all notices of such change to the applicants by any means including the following; electronic mail communication to the email address on record, publication on a prominent site of the college/university notice board or INTI website.
  5. All decisions made by INTI are final and binding.
Other Specific Terms & Conditions
Award recipients must achieve and maintain the following academic requirements to continue enjoying the award:-
  1. Full passes in all subjects and the applicable GPA/required average below:
  2. GPA of 3.33 or average of 70% for recipients entitled to a tuition fee waiver of 50% or more.
  3. GPA of 3.0 or average of 65% for recipients who are entitled to tuition fee waiver of less than 50%.
